Mothers' Day
Yesterday was Mother's Day. Thanks to JF, I had an amazing weekend. He handled all of the chores for the weekend. I didn't do laundry, vacuum, sweep, wash a dish, make a meal, or dust a thing. It felt GREAT. JF also made me a delicious dinner of Cornish game hens, potatoes, and green beans. He spoiled me rotten. But I couldn't stop thinking about Jacob's first mom. I wish so much that I knew something about her. I wish I knew that she is okay. I wish I knew why she had to make that terrible decision to set her baby down by the banks of Lake Awassa. I wish she knew how much we love this little boy. Last night, I had to force myself to put him in his crib. I rocked him and sang for at least 30 minutes longer than I usually do. I just felt that maybe if I held him a little longer, she would know that he is beloved. I hope that she is at peace. And I hope that Jacob grows up knowing how much we think of her; that we honor her by being the best parents we can be to her son.

Mother's Day
What does a super-happy-loving-every-minute-of-her-day woman look like?

What does a super-happy-but-very-windblown family look like?

What does your toe look like after you drop and iPod on it?

JF made a very special day for me, and with a little help from Ani, I would like to express my sentiments on the man:
