The home visit is over!

So today was pretty intense. We had a 2.5 hour home visit today!! I am curious how long other people's home visits were??? It went very well. Laura even told us if our house was always this clean, she would worry about a baby fitting into the setting. We were happy to admit this was not quite our "normal" level of clean. I guess it means we went overboard! But as my mom said, you have to expect that people are going to go a little crazy. Having someone else come into your home specifically to determine the appropriateness of the place, even with kind eyes, is daunting.

Laura made us feel great. She told us that our place is so warm and inviting. She complimented our artwork She truly is such a great person. Within five minutes she dispels whatever fears we may have. We think we are so lucky to be working with her. Finding our own agency was a fairly daunting task. CHI had the names of only two places for us. Sadly, one stopped doing home studies and the other is over an hour away. They told us they wouldn't travel that distance for a home visit. So when we had to find our own, it was scary. But it worked out so well.

We are now relaxing with a glass of wine, curled up on the couch, enjoying a well deserved restful evening. :o)

Yay! It's over! Our house gets progressively messier each time Erin (our sw) comes over for a visit (post-adoption visits now).

And, your dog and the laundry from the last post - my two little ones did that tonight!! It was folded and they just made themselves a comfy bed. Love dogs!

We had two 2 hour visits in our home and then we had individual interviews that took 2.5 hours each. Your visit sounds normal me!
